For a While originated from a conversation between Pao, Sukrit and Perth, Sirin, in which they reflected on their personal perceptions of light.

For Sukrit, light resembles the idea of the spirit in traditional Thai belief—a presence that resides within the body during life and is released upon death. Some spirits are believed to linger in places to which they remain emotionally connected, appearing only at certain moments and in ever-changing forms.

Light behaves in much the same way. It is reflected by objects, cast onto surfaces, and briefly takes shape before gradually disappearing. It may never appear again, or it may return in an entirely different form, transformed by its surroundings.

Through this parallel between light and spirit, For a While contemplates impermanence, presence, and the fleeting moments that exist only for a short time before quietly fading away.
