The altered landscape is the most visibly apparent element. The familiar image of the sea as a vast, empty expanse stretching to the horizon is what it’s supposed to be. However, seeing the sea in Rayong province reveals something else—there is a bridge extending all the way to the horizon, and at the end of it, an enormous smokestack rises out of the sea.

Emergence of industrial factories is part of the development of infrastructure to support a large-scale society that constantly demands conveniences, needs that seem likely to keep increasing. In exchange, the environment around these industrial areas becomes contaminated, whether intentionally or by accident.

Photo series SOMETHING IN EVERYTHING is an experimental work and a real-site exploration in Rayong province. Some of the images were captured on film, and experimented with a technique called “ film soup. ”

The liquid used to soup the film was a water sample taken from the wastewater pipe of a factory. However, due to an error in the experiment, most of the images on the film faded away, leaving only three vague images.

Some parts remain only as fragments of a place that seems to be the same as in the backup photos taken with a digital camera. And when pieced together, it feels as if everything in the images is contaminated by something.
